One thing that interreges me the most is the questions I sometimes get asked by devotees, some I must admit are a little frustrating and at times would rather not answer.

However at times the questioning makes you stop and look at things in a different light. The other day as I talked to Jayananda Swami he noted that I was well situated, a nice house, Job and car this allows me to travel great distances to visit devotees with great ease.

What pleased me most was that this did not lead to what I have now decided is the Hare Krsnas favourite and for me most irritating question Are you married?, would you like t be married?. How old are you? And after giving the answer the inevitable how come your still single is there something wrong with you?

To some my situation appears good whilst to others it appears to be very hellish this is always dependent on your individual point of view. But all these things are external; yes I am well respected in my field and am impressed by my home and amused by my choice in car. But what about internally, this people can’t see or understand are we so concerned about external appearance that we neglect the internal self?

We could have what is seen as great circumstances but if we are not focusing our lives on Krsna and making spiritual progress then great circumstances are of no benefit.

I realised this that we are only well situated if all our efforts are focused on making progress in KC or helping spread the message of devotional life. And as for the most intelligent question I’ve ever been asked is this “Do you have your own deities, and do you worship the daily?” along with “how’s your reading and chanting?”

But I should learn to deal much better with the majority who are more interested in checking my marital status and probing why I’m not married and when I intend to get married as I am tired and very much bored as I find them pointless, irrelevant and a bit of a waste of time.
