Short Biography

HH Bhakti Vighna Vinasa Narasimha Maharaja joined ISKCON in 1971. He has been preaching for the last twenty years in Asian countries, such as India, Philippines, China, and recently in Thailand. Through his years of preaching he has given countless souls practical guidance and deep inspiration. Taking sannyasa in 1994 did not mean much of a change in his lifestyle, since Maharaja has always been strict in his sadhana. Whoever gets to know Maharaja admires and respects his sincere and faithful practice of chanting the Holy Names of the Lord. He truly "walks his talk."

I thought I was in for a quiet time in Mayapur, with the Gaura Purnima Festival over and even Jananivasa Prabhu and Pankajangari Prabhu off to Jagannath Puri with Bhakti Purusottama Maharaja and the sankirtana brahmacaris. But that was before I entered the Congregational Preaching office. It was there that I learned about Skypecast and how it operates. I was told that today we are going to speak on "the art of loving God" and we have to start in a few minutes. I was handed a small mike and earphones and told that now we have an audience.

It began with just a couple of listeners, but in next to no time we had forty, and then sixty, and then eighty listeners from all over the world. I had no idea I was speaking to so many corners of the world until the questions started coming in. There were some people from China who wanted to know if quan-ying meditation is the same as chanting the maha-mantra. There were people from Turkey who wanted to know how they as Muslims could relate to the Krishna conscious teachings. A man from England said he did not believe in the soul and then there were our own devotees also—from Croatia, South America, and India.

I was amazed that with very little effort an international audience was available at my fingertips. I was so impressed with the program and the preaching opportunities that I went back each evening for as long as I stayed in Mayapur. I was not once disappointed with the audience and their interest in the Krishna conscious teachings. I certainly hope to continue taking part in this program, and I hope you also can find the time to set up your own talk and preach to the world.

With best wishes,
bvv narasimha

Srila Prabhupada:

"That is not a good policy that for preaching work one has to get men from another country. One has to create manpower from the local environment. That is success of preaching. "
