Twenty years ago, no one gave a damn. You could gum up a river with factory sludge, chop down rain forests wholesale, spray fluorocarbons into the air like a kid sprinkling confetti, and no one would say boo.

No longer. Grade-school kids want to grow up to be ecologists. New York tycoons sort their trash to recycle. Rock singers play concerts to save prairies and wetlands. Political candidates tell us they’re worried about the fate of the three-toed baboon.

We have some regular faces around Krishna Lounge. (not "regular" faces, but familiar faces)
It is also nice to see new faces each week. One of the goals of Krishna Lounge is to create an atmosphere for discussion which reaches outside the normal scope of work, school, family and "Adult-life".

The first principle in liberation is to chant the hare Krsna Maha-mantra.
(maha means great; mantra means :sound that liberates the mind from ingnorance")

we have a special request, if anyone can, at Krishna lounge we are in need if plates, cups, mugs, bowls, and silverware. If anyone has anything extra lying around that they would like to donate, please bring it to the lounge. Thanks...

Inside our minds, thoughts spin with the here and there, he said she said, the who's what's where's and why's. As Mahat Tattva Dasa so kindle and patiently revealed and reminded us last night, these thoughts are like bungee cords and we get attached to them.

Last week was hysterical and such a great time! Thanks Bakhtin E-Liz for wrapping up last week! Gopal, you will be missed. Thank you for inspiring us, who knows if I would have come back to the temple if it was not for you!!! Wishing you the very best in this life.

Hey Everybody!
A huge thank you should go out to Regina, for all of the hard work on decorating Krishna Lounge last week, and for the nice stereo she donated. Also a shout out to Gopal for all of his selfless service, we wish him all the best in Los Angeles (and may he come back to hang out with us very soon.)
This Thursday expect some especially gourmet vegan food. Mahat will be leading the Bhajans and Tota will be leading the discussion. See you in the pit... I mean, in the lounge...
